Neil is a third generation scrap metal dealer. As a teenager, he worked in his family scrap business. Even at the University of Georgia, he worked for the dealer in town. According to Neil “I didn’t know there was anything else to do.” Neil opened High Tide metals in 2003 after he left his position as Vice President at M. Kimerling and Sons. Neil is an avid golfer, married with two grown children.
Thomas came to work at High Tide Metals in 2009 after graduating from the University of South Carolina. Thomas moved to Charleston to enjoy the coastal life and has entrenched himself into the scrap business. Before joining High Tide Thomas had never worked in the scrap business. Since joining High Tide Thomas has spent countless hours working with Neil learning all he can to better understand the business. According to Thomas “I’m fortunate to have the greatest scrap guru/mentor to work for. I try my best to learn all I can about metals and how to do proper business” Thomas is also an avid golfer and one that enjoys living the Charleston life.
Thomas is involved in all aspects of the company’s purchasing, shipping, receiving, scale operations, personnel, inventory, and logistics. Neil describes Thomas has his right hand, and Director of Operations.
Ben came to work at High Tide Metals in 2011 from a recommendation by one of High Tides current customers. Ben relocated from Alabama to Charleston in 2011 to work at High Tide. Ben is a huge Auburn Football fan, enjoys playing golf and an occasional game of hoops. Ben currently runs the Warehouse operation at High Tide and is a graduate of Auburn University.
Thomas came to work at High Tide Metals in 2014. Thomas is a Charleston native with deep roots throughout South Carolina. Before joining High Tide Thomas spent time working in commercial real estate as an analyst and salesman. Thomas is a huge Gamecocks fan, enjoys having a good time with friends on the water as well as being active in the community. Thomas currently has his hands in a little bit of everything at High Tide, but is mainly involved with the operations and trading.
