Neil Fisher

President & CEO

Neil is a third generation scrap metal dealer. As a teenager, he worked in his family scrap business. Even at the University of Georgia, he worked for the dealer in town. According to Neil “I didn’t know there was anything else to do.” Neil opened High Tide metals in 2003 after he left his position as Vice President at M. Kimerling and Sons. Neil is an avid golfer, married with two grown children.

  • 2003 to Present – High Tide Metals, Inc. President and CEO
  • 1996 to 2003 – M. Kimerling and Sons, Inc./Metal Management, Inc. Vice President: Management of Birmingham yard in charge of marketing, operations, purchasing, and personnel. Managed the Ferrous and Nonferrous business with two wire chopping lines. Also managed the Southern California wire chopping business, turning it around from loss in 1997 to profits until it was sold. Opened office in Charleston, S.C. while continuing responsibilities for Birmingham yard adding sales of nonferrous metals from most of the Metal Management, Inc. yards
  • 1995 to 1996 – Feldman Trading, Inc.: Nonferrous, predominantly aluminum trading. Developed the warehouse concept in use today at High Tide Metals, Inc.
  • 1990 to 1995 – Mindis Recycling Atlanta, Georgia Vice President: Purchasing and Sales of all nonferrous metals. Served on the executive committee, which headed the company’s management, marketing, acquisitions and policies.
  • 1986 to 1990 – Metal Exchange Corporation – Beverly Hills, California, Atlanta, Georgia Trader/Broker Aluminum Scrap: Trading, conversion, and brokerage of aluminum scrap
  • 1983 to 1986 – Ramco Trading/ Bamar Metals – Beverly Hills, California Trader/ Broker Aluminum Scrap
  • 1979 to 1983 – University of Georgia – Bachelor of Arts, Communications

Thomas Acree

Vice President

Thomas came to work at High Tide Metals in 2009. Before joining High Tide Thomas had never worked in the scrap business. He is now involved in all aspects of the company’s purchasing, shipping, receiving, scale operations, personnel, inventory, and logistics. Neil describes Thomas has his right hand, and Director of Operations.

Ben Brown

Operations & Trading

Ben came to work at High Tide Metals in 2011 from a recommendation by one of High Tides current customers. Ben relocated from Alabama to Charleston in 2011 to work at High Tide. Ben is a huge Auburn Football fan, enjoys playing golf and an occasional game of hoops. Ben currently runs the Warehouse operation at High Tide and is a graduate of Auburn University.

Thomas Bennett

Operations & Trading

Thomas came to work at High Tide Metals in 2014. Thomas is a Charleston native with deep roots throughout South Carolina. Before joining High Tide Thomas spent time working in commercial real estate as an analyst and salesman. Thomas is a huge Gamecocks fan, enjoys having a good time with friends on the water as well as being active in the community. Thomas currently has his hands in a little bit of everything at High Tide, but is mainly involved with the operations and trading.
