Neil is a third generation scrap metal dealer. He worked in his family’s scrap yard as teen and continued in the business as a laborer at the scrap yard in Athens, Georgia while attending the University of Georgia. After college, Neil got a job as an aluminum scrap and prime trader/broker. Beginning his adult scrap career in California, he then came back to the southeast USA and over the next 15 years or so, he worked for several dealers and brokerage firms where he picked up varying skill sets and knowledge in most every aspect of the nonferrous scrap business. In 2003 he started High Tide Metals, Inc. High Tide Metals moved into its current location in 2004, and has grown into one of the South’s premier nonferrous wholesale companies. Neil is an avid golfer, and you better watch out, as he has become a proficient shot.
Thomas started working with High Tide in 2009 after graduating from The University of South Carolina. Thomas started off running the admin side of High Tide for a year, and then transitioned into the Warehouse Manager. At that point, with a good feel for the operations, he moved into the marketing side of the business. Thomas has climbed the ranks and is now the 2nd in command at High Tide. He continues to buy and sell as well as being involved in most aspects of running the business.
Ben came to work at High Tide Metals in 2011 from a recommendation by one of High Tides current customers. Ben relocated from Alabama to Charleston in 2011 to work at High Tide. Ben is a huge Auburn Football fan, enjoys playing golf and an occasional game of hoops. Ben currently runs the Warehouse operation at High Tide and is a graduate of Auburn University.
Thomas joined High Tide Metals in 2014, transitioning from commercial real estate brokerage. Thomas likes to share his passion for the recycling industry through active participation in several industry associations. He enjoys establishing relationships with customers and believes in a transparent straightforward approach. What Thomas loves the most about working for High Tide is the family atmosphere between our employees, suppliers, consumers, and industry partners.

Jason joined High Tide in 2021 after leaving his family’s scrap metal business. Having 15 years of management experience within the industry, he applies a professional, well-rounded understanding of High Tide’s daily operations. Jason takes pride in hard-work and always puts the customer first. Coming from five generations of metal recyclers, he puts his heart into his craft and holds his crew to the same standard. Jason says he is glad to be a part of our team because of the level of appreciation the company shows to their employees and their professional approach toward scrap metal recycling.
